At Next Chapter Books & Bookmobile, we believe every book deserves a second chapter. We carefully curate gently used books and bookish gifts to help connect readers with stories they'll love. Please review the policies below before making a purchase.
Books purchased directly from Next Chapter Books & Bookmobile may be returned within 48 hours of purchase with the original receipt.
To be eligible for a return, books must be returned in the same condition in which they were purchased.
Returns may be refunded to the original form of payment when possible. Cash purchases may be refunded in cash or store credit at our discretion.
The following items are non-returnable:
• Clearance items
• Seasonal merchandise
• Special orders
• Gift cards
• Digital products
• Bookshop.org purchases
• Libro.fm purchases
BOOK CONDITION
Most books sold by Next Chapter Books & Bookmobile are gently used. As a result, books may show normal signs of previous ownership, including:
• Minor shelf wear
• Creased covers or spines
• Name inscriptions
• Small markings or highlighting
• Age-related discoloration
We inspect our inventory and only offer books we believe are in good, readable condition. Any significant defects will be noted whenever possible.
ONLINE ORDERS
Due to the unique nature of used-book inventory, all online sales are final.
If you receive an incorrect item or an item that was significantly misrepresented, please contact us within 3 days of delivery so we can work toward a resolution.
Orders are typically processed within 3–5 business days unless otherwise noted.
LOCAL PICKUP
Customers selecting local pickup will receive a notification when their order is ready.
Orders not picked up within 30 days may be canceled and refunded as store credit unless prior arrangements have been made.
POP-UP EVENTS & MARKETS
Next Chapter Books & Bookmobile participates in festivals, markets, book fairs, and community events throughout Central Texas.
Purchases made at pop-up events are subject to the same return policy unless otherwise stated at the event.
Inventory available at events may differ from the inventory listed online.
Purchase a Gift Card
Gift cards purchased directly from Next Chapter Books & Bookmobile may be redeemed for merchandise sold by Next Chapter Books & Bookmobile.
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Please note that Bookshop.org gift cards and Next Chapter Books & Bookmobile gift cards are separate programs and are not interchangeable.

Purchase a Bookshop.org Gift Card
- If you purchase a gift card from a specific store or affiliate on Bookshop.org, the recipient will be sent to the same store on our site when they click the link to redeem the card, so the store will get credit for any purchases made. However, it is possible for a customer to change to a different shop affiliation if they want to spread their purchases around—the card is like cash, and can be spent how the recipient wants.
- Bookshop Gift Cards are only accepted at bookshop.org
- You can choose a value from $10–$1,000.
- All gift cards are digital only and must be sent to a valid email address.
- For a personalized touch, include the recipient's name and a personal message on the gift card form. This will appear in the email they receive with the redemption code and link.
- If you want the card delivered on a specific day, for example the recipient's birthday, enter the date in our order form and we'll send it to them in the morning of that day.
- Bookshop Gift Cards never expire and have no hidden fees.

DONATIONS
We gratefully accept book donations throughout the year. Donation acceptance is based on inventory needs, condition, and available storage space.
Please contact us before bringing large donations so we can confirm current needs and availability.
